OUR STORY
1989 – Founding of PS Automation GmbH: The products were spun off from IPAS Intrometic GmbH. This led to the creation of PS Automation GmbH as an independent company for electric actuators.

However, the technological roots go back further: Among other things, the original design of the linear PSL actuators comes from the heating technology of CF Scheer.

1991–1999 – Expansion of the product portfolio: The STR rotary actuator was developed in 1991, followed by the PSQ electric rotary actuator in 1996. In 1999, PS-AMS (Actuator Management System) was introduced, marking the first time a concept for electronically controlled, intelligent actuators was added to the portfolio.

1998 – Internationalization: PS Maxonic Hong Kong Limited was established as a joint venture with a Chinese partner in Hong Kong . The site developed into an important production and supply partner, including for the Chinese market.

2000 – Further development and own location: The STR was technically revised and further developed into the PSR. In the same year, PS Automation GmbH moved into its own company building.

2008 – Further international expansion: Sales were expanded with PS Automazione Srl in Italy; at the same time, PS Automation (India) Private Limited was established as a separate production site for standard drives.

2021 – Restructuring and establishment of the holding company SPH INTERNATIONAL GmbH.

Today – further development of PS Automation and expansion of the international partner network.
From its roots in classic drive technology, PS Automation has developed since 1989 into an internationally positioned manufacturer of electric and increasingly intelligent actuators – with its own or partner locations in Germany, Hong Kong/China, Italy and India.

SPH International GmbH combines entrepreneurial tradition with new perspectives.
With the two of us, Dipl.-Ing. Christian and Dr. Martin Schmidhuber, the next generation continues the entrepreneurial history of the family, which our father Max Schmidhuber built up over decades.
Our professional backgrounds complement each other perfectly: Christian holds a degree in mechanical engineering and has played a key role in the technological development and operational management of PS Automation for many years. Martin is a lawyer and partner at the commercial law firm RITTERSHAUS in Mannheim, with extensive experience in providing strategic consulting services to companies.
Together we combine technical understanding, entrepreneurial experience and strategic competence .
Through SPH International GmbH , we pursue the goal of developing the group's companies in the long term and sustainably , promoting innovation and unlocking international growth potential .
